The company known as Door County Sisters' Sweets officially began in 1998. However, our tradition of making homemade candies goes back much further with a recipe for taffy made by Eva Kuehn. The taffy became a favorite for family and friends, and in time she passed the recipe down to her daughter. In 1998 her daughter and son-in-law started making candy out of their basement, selling the delicious chocolates and confections at local farm markets.
The good Lord blessed their business as they developed an entire
line of homemade candy including a Door County Bar, Fudge, Peanut
Clusters, Almond Clusters, Paw Prints, Caramels, Chocolate-dipped
Pretzels and more. They soon outgrew the farm markets and have now
expanded to a seasonal store in the Whistling Swan Shoppe located in
Fish Creek, Wisconsin, 4192 Main St., 54212. They sell their
delicious chocolates at their store May through October. Along
with the chocolates, they have unique gift items for sale -
pictures, signs, bowls, and many beautiful religious items.
